Just have them sign a release. I did that once on a job that wasn't dry. The adjuster called and told me to leave my equipment til it was dry

When an adjuster wants me to do something incorrectly I always ask for it in writing. Its amazing how well that sorts things out.

The only problem is that you risk losing business from him because you wouldn't play along. I guess that's where the big dinners you take him to come in.

I won't participate in the wining and dining bs. My calls come from homeowners not adjusters. I'm not a preferred. I look out for the policy holder and I don't give a rat's ass about the insurance company as long as the job gets done right

I think that would be my attitude too. We are doing the job and the job has to be done right. After all the he said you said was done the job speaks for itself and our reputation.

adjusters can deny a whole claim...if they don't like the company...

Never seen it happen. I have been chosen over the preferred by the policy holder

Same here,  it`s happened before that the insurance co. tries to deny my service, even though the policy holder has requested our service, but under the Insurance Bureau of Canada legislation, it clearly states that the insured has the right to use their own contractor as long as they submitt an estimate that is comparible to that of the competition. S***e F*** is one of the toughest to deal with in this regard.
It`s not how far you fall...it`s how high you bounce back up...
