Topic: Clogged Wand FiltersPosted: 09/November/2007 at 10:11pm |

I have been trying several brands of cleaning solutions lately to clean carpets as well as several presprays. I have have found that certain brands put a grainy residue in my filters such as in my carpet wand filters. Those same brands clog up my meter as I try to run at 3-4 on my solutions meter on my truckmount.
Has anyone else had this same trouble? I am trying to weed out the bad solutions......

First off all you don't put presprays threw the machine. If you have clogging problems get away from powders or start mixing them properly.

1) Using powders that are not well mixed
2) Mixing two or three chemicals together that may be incompatible, especially deodorizers.
3) Not cleaning and maintaining your Solution tank.
4) Using the same pail to fill and dump.
5) Not running a mild acetic product through your system to purge rust, corrosion and water scale on a monthly basis.
I commend you for even knowing you have an in-line filter. Many CC bring us equipment for repair only to find a seriously clogged filter. The answer from my customer is, I did not know I had a filter.
When I hear this I know I was not the man that trained him.

First off I dont use a pail to fill or dump. Goss I hope you dont either. We dont put deodorizers in our solution tank, thats for idiots. Think about it, lets buy deodorizers, apply them and then suck them up. Now theres a waste of products!!!!!!!!!I WILL ADMIT if I am low on supplies I will run a prespray in the solution tank when Im in a hurry. Do you think that is the cause of lumpies in my wand filters?
