Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice after a pipe froze and burst, leaving my living room soaked. This is my first time dealing with water damage and extraction, so I’m a bit lost on where to start. Is emergency water damage restoration in Charleston, SC worth the cost, or are there any solid DIY options that actually make sense? I’d appreciate any recommendations or firsthand experiences. Thanks! |

Sorry you're dealing with this — a burst pipe is one of the messiest water damage jobs there is. The first 24–48 hours are critical: shut off the water main, pull up any soaked carpet padding (it almost never dries clean), and get high-velocity air movers plus a dehumidifier running. If the wall cavities or subfloor are wet, DIY fans won't cut it — trapped moisture leads to mold within days, so professional extraction and moisture metering are worth the cost. For a full breakdown of what a proper cleanup involves, see this guide to water damage restoration new albany in. Document everything with photos before you move anything, since your insurer will want that record.
