Frequently Asked Questions About HG Steel Polish Cleaner

What is HG Steel Polish Cleaner used for?

HG Steel Polish Cleaner is a specialized metal cleaning and polishing product designed to clean, shine and protect compatible stainless steel, copper and other metal surfaces. It helps remove everyday dirt and dullness while leaving a protective finish that reduces rapid resoiling.

Can HG Steel Polish be used on stainless steel sinks?

Yes. HG Steel Polish is suitable for stainless steel sinks and draining boards. It cleans and polishes the metal surface while helping restore its appearance. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and test a small, inconspicuous area before treating the entire sink.

Does HG Steel Polish remove stains and dullness from stainless steel?

HG Steel Polish helps remove everyday marks, light deposits and dullness from compatible stainless steel surfaces. Its polishing action improves shine, but it is not intended to repair deep scratches, corrosion or permanently damaged metal.

Can HG Steel Polish be used on copper and aluminium?

Yes. HG Steel Polish can also be used on compatible copper and aluminium cookware and utensils. It combines cleaning and polishing in one treatment. Always check the item’s care instructions before application.

Can HG Steel Polish be used on chrome fixtures?

HG’s manufacturer information lists compatible chrome items, including taps, as suitable applications. Avoid damaged, lacquered or specially coated finishes, and test an inconspicuous area before polishing.

Can I use HG Steel Polish on stainless steel appliances?

Kleen Kuip’s current HG Steel Polish product information specifically states that this formulation is not intended for appliances. Do not use it on refrigerators, dishwashers or other appliance finishes unless the manufacturer confirms compatibility with the particular surface. Choose a dedicated stainless steel appliance cleaner instead.

How do I apply HG Steel Polish Cleaner?

Follow these steps for cleaning compatible metal surfaces:

1. Read the instructions and precautions on the product container.
2. Shake the bottle well before use.
3. Apply a small amount of HG Steel Polish to a damp cloth.
4. Rub the surface thoroughly, preferably following the direction of the metal grain.
5. Rinse away the product or wipe it off with a clean cloth, as directed.
6. Finish by polishing with a clean, dry cloth.

For cookware and food-contact surfaces, rinse thoroughly before reuse and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Does HG Steel Polish help prevent stainless steel from becoming dirty again?

Yes. HG Steel Polish has protective properties that help reduce rapid resoiling on compatible metal surfaces. Regular cleaning and proper maintenance are still necessary to keep stainless steel looking its best.

Can HG Steel Polish be used on lacquered or painted metal?

No. The manufacturer specifically advises against using HG Steel Polish on lacquered materials. Avoid painted, lacquered or specially coated surfaces unless compatibility has been confirmed, as polishing may damage the finish.

Is HG Steel Polish suitable for professional cleaning applications?

Yes. HG Steel Polish can be useful for maintaining compatible stainless steel sinks, metal fixtures and utensils in residential and commercial settings. Cleaning contractors and property maintenance professionals should always follow product instructions and verify surface compatibility.
